DUBS Library

Durham University Business School (DUBS) Library is located in the Business School based at Mill Hill Lane on Level 2 in Room 208.

The library at DUBS is open 24/7 all year round. Staffed Service runs from Monday to Friday : 09:00 - 17:00

Ebsco Business Source Complete
This database provides full-text content from 11,000+ sources, including more than 1000+ international top ranking and scholarly business journals. The database offers information in virtually every area of business including accounting & tax, banking, finance & insurance, construction, computer science and economics as well as country economic reports and company profiles.

Emerald Full-Text
This database contains over 35,000 articles from over 120 management journals, complete with full-text archives back to 1994. Emerald covers the major management disciplines including strategy, leadership, information management, marketing and human resource management.

Nexis UK
A database of full-text information taken from local, national and international general news sources and agencies, professional journals and specialist trade, company and industry sources. Includes company information from ICC, Extel, Disclosure, and Directory of Directors. The database is aimed primarily at business users, but also covers general current affairs. Information is drawn from over 4000 business information sources, including the Financial Times and other global news sources, offering company news items and financial information on UK and international companies.

This database provides access to full-text coverage of international and US newspapers, trade publications, business newswires, press release wires, media transcripts, news photos, business-rich web sites, investment analyst reports, market research reports, country and regional profiles, company profiles, historical market data.

ArticleFirst - Firstsearch
This database contains bibliographic citations which describe items listed on the table of contents pages of more than 13,000 journals in science, technology, medicine, social science, business, the humanities, and popular culture. Coverage is from 1990 to the present for most journals, 1992 or 1994 to the present for some.

This database is produced by the American Economic Association (AEA). EconLit indexes from books, journal articles taken from over 450 journals, dissertations, and articles in books published since 1969. The subjects covered within EconLit include economic theory and history, fiscal theory, econometrics, agricultural economics, public finance, demography, monetary theory, international economics and others.

A platform which provides online access to an extensive collection of general and specialized databases covering a wide range of subject areas. It features links to abstracts, articles, indexes, reviews, and full text of works such as dissertations, journals, reports, and conference proceedings and papers. There are links to some OCLC databases.


Scopus is a database containing abstract and citation information on peer-reviewed literature, scientific journals, books and conference proceedings.  As well as indexing nearly 20,000 academic journals it also extensively covers the period 1996 to present.
Web of Knowledge
ISI Web of Knowledge is an integrated platform designed to support research in academic, corporate, government, and not for profit organizations. The ISI citation databases are multidisciplinary databases of bibliographic information indexed to be searched by subject, author, journal, and/or author address. They can also be searched for articles that cite a known author or work.

This database contains details of approximately 20,000 current journals and 16,000 conference proceedings published per year. With almost 15 million article and conference records, the database covers every imaginable subject in science, technology, medicine, engineering, business, law, finance and the humanities. The database covers the years from 1993 to date and is updated daily. A list of journal titles covered by the database is available. Copies of all the articles and conference papers listed on the database are available from the British Library's Document Supply Centre in Yorkshire.

FAME Company reports, detailed annual accounts and financial ratios on 440,000 public and private British and Irish companies. Descriptive information for 60,000 additional UK and Irish holdings and subsidiaries.

A database which provides international financial, economic, stock market and company data. Includes coverage of equities, stock market and bond indices, economic statistics, foreign exchange rates, interest rates, fixed income instruments and derivatives. DSWindows software allows data to be downloaded and exported and can be used to create graphics, reports and spreadsheets. Datastream is available on all NPCS computers on-campus.

Edgar database of corporate information
All companies, foreign or domestic, operating in the USA are required by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) to file registration statements, periodic financial reports and other forms electronically through EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, analysis and Retrieval system). The Edgar system typically receives in excess of 3000 filings per day.

Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a web-based business data research service. Developed in 1993 WRDS provides researchers with access to financial, economic and marketing data via such databases as COMPUSTAT, CRSP, IBES/First Call, NYSE-TAQ, Bureau van Dijk, Global Insight and OptionMetrics. The majority of the material within WRDS is north American.

Thomson OneBanker Deals
Thomson OneBanker provides access to real-time global market data and news from industry leading sources. It offers users access to market quotes, earnings estimates, financial fundamentals, market moving news, transaction data, corporate filings, ownership profiles and research from such sources as IBES, Worldscope, SDC, Newsedge, First Call,Extel and Investext.

EMIS - Emerging Markets Information Service
EMIS delivers information from a company, sector and macroeconomic viewpoint together with news and other financial data from the MENA region (Middle East - North Africa). EMIS is primarily a multilingual collection of news and information sources about the emerging markets of selected countries in the Middle East. This resource delivers online hard-to-get information on more than 55 emerging markets. It aggregates and produces unique content including full-text news articles, financial statements, company information, industry analyses, equity quotes, macroeconomic statistics, legal information and market-specific information, which are derived directly from more than 8500 local and global information providers.

GMID contains over a million demographic, economic and marketing statistics for 205 countries worldwide. The database also contains 6-year historic market size data for more than 330 consumer products in 52 countries, plus 5-year forecasts.
